The Sapanca & Maşukiye Tour is a full-day escape from Istanbul's urban rhythm into the heart of nature. After an early morning hotel pickup, a comfortable 1.5-hour drive brings you to Sapanca Lake — a serene basin ringed by pine forest with lakeside tea houses and an optional boat ride.
Next stop is Maşukiye, a picturesque village at the foot of Mount Kartepe, famous for trout restaurants and cool waterfalls cutting through the green canyon. Adventure seekers can book an ATV safari through the surrounding trails or try zip-lining over the treetops. Lunch is served at a local mountain restaurant — fresh trout or a Turkish village breakfast.
The day continues with the Kartepe cable car, climbing to roughly 1,600 metres for snow-capped panoramas in winter and lush green vistas in summer. On the way back, we stop at the Sopalı Wildlife Village where local organic honey, jams, hand-made soaps and traditional crafts are sold straight from village producers.
