Overview

Full-day tour to the first Ottoman capital Bursa: UNESCO village Cumalıkızık, 600-year Inkaya Plane, Grand Mosque, zoo and Uludağ cable car.

The Bursa & Uludağ Tour is a full-day journey from Istanbul, crossing the Sea of Marmara by ferry to reach the first Ottoman capital. After early hotel pickup, you board a ferry at Yenikapı or Pendik — a scenic crossing that saves road time.

The first stop in Bursa is Cumalıkızık, a 14th-century village inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list, with original Ottoman stone-and-timber houses lining cobbled lanes. We stroll the streets, pause for home-made jam and the local gözleme flatbread, then move to the Inkaya Plane Tree, where a traditional village breakfast is served under a 600-year-old plane.

In the city centre we visit the Grand Mosque (Ulu Camii, 1399), awe-inspiring with its 20 domes and one of the largest collections of Islamic calligraphy in the world. Nearby, the Historic Bazaar (Kapalı Çarşı) — famed for silk and textiles — invites you to browse.

In the afternoon we ascend Mount Uludağ, first by road and then by cable car, reaching about 2,500 metres. Winter brings snow-blanketed ski-resort panoramas; summer reveals lush green plateaus. An optional short stop at Bursa Zoo can be added on request. We return to Istanbul by ferry in the evening.
