Minerva Han is a 1913 building on the historic Bankalar Caddesi in Karaköy, designed by the architect Vasilios Kouremenos for the Bank of Athens and later home to the Istanbul branch of Deutsche Bank. A bust of Minerva above the main entrance and the allegorical figures on the terrace are its best-known details; since 1998 the building has served as Sabancı University's Karaköy Communication Centre, and the basement that once held the bank vault now houses the Kasa Gallery. Galata Tower, the Karaköy ferry pier and the Galata Bridge are all within walking distance.
Rated 4.7/5 on Google, it is a worthwhile stop for travellers interested in Galata's banking heritage and in contemporary art exhibitions.
